(Junior) Market Simulation

In this role, you will help us create and simulate an environmental market associated with electricity.

Your responsibilities:

​

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of developers, and environmental experts to design and develop a dynamic, real-time market simulation tool for certificates (e.g. carbon certificates).

• Develop a simple and intuitive user interface for the simulation tool, ensuring usability and a seamless user experience.

• Implement the required functionality using appropriate programming languages and frameworks, such as Python, R, or MS Excel.

• Work closely with data scientists to integrate economic models and algorithms into the simulation tool.

• Conduct data analysis and modelling to support the development and refinement of the simulation tool.

• Ensure the tool accurately represents market dynamics, environmental factors, and financial implications related to (carbon) certificates.

• Collaborate with finance professionals to incorporate financial calculations and metrics into the simulation tool.

• Perform testing and debugging of the simulation tool to identify and resolve any issues or errors.

• Assist in documenting the technical specifications, user guides, and other relevant documentation for the simulation tool.

• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in carbon markets, renewable energy, finance, and simulation technologies.

 

What you bring to the team:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, finance, environmental economics, or a related field.

• Advanced use of programming languages such as Python, R.

• Understanding of data analysis, modelling, statistical techniques, and financial calculations.

• Experience developing user interfaces and a keen eye for usability and design aesthetics.

• Knowledge of environmental economics and carbon markets is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and collaborative team environment.

• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts and ideas effectively.
